Task Force

The government and the Ministry of Justice, aims to implement the provisions of the UN Convention on Transnational Organised Crime and the associated Protocols on Trafficking in Human Beings and People Smuggling and the Council of Europe Convention on combating trafficking in human beings in the laws and regulations as set out in Article 1 of the MOU,

cooperation to prevent and combat trafficking in human beings and people smuggling. A task force has been set up to achieve this.

Mission

The aim of the Taskforce is “Preventing trafficking in human beings as well as accommodating victims and promoting the fight against trafficking in human beings and people smuggling in Curaçao”.

In order to achieve the goal, the task force organises training for government employees, law students and NGOs and awareness campaigns are carried out. Awareness campaigns focus on the at-risk groups, victims of trafficking in human beings, the general public, tourists, specific economic sectors and businesses.
